Crochet Baby Blanket
I recently finished a blanket I was crocheting for a friend who just had a new baby.
I used a variegated sport weight yarn (TLC Baby by Red Heart), two strands held together, to do a simple single crochet. I crocheted through the front loop only of each stitch, instead of going under both loops. I like the look of that.
I finished it off with a scallop border made from a single strand of pink yarn, once I learned that the baby was a girl.

I think it looked a lot prettier in person (not that I am biased), but this was the only picture that did not come out blurry.

Ah - crochet - I have never been able to do that - knit yes. And I can even knit socks! But, crochet - never. Love it love it love it! I like the nice thickness of the stitches. REally nice job!
Lovely blanket! I was just thinking that I might have time to crochet a blanket for the new baby but then thought better of the attempt. After all, I gave myself 7 months to knit a blankie for my last baby and she got it a few months ago...when she was about 18 months old. She loves it thought, and drags it everywhere.

Dana, I know what you mean. I never would have finished this if I had not been stuck in bed for a week with a cold that made the room spin every time I got up.
